    Hello,

The holiday break has come to an end and now it is time to get ready for some racing fun in the new year! Great work over the holidays getting out for lots of training, both team sessions and on your own. That training base will help you to race fast all the way to the end of the season at Nationals.

    AB Cup 3 & 4 Jan 19/20:
Our next AB Cup is just around the corner here at the Nordic Centre, hosted by Foothills Nordic.

Details for the event can be found here: https://foothillsnordic.ca/races/alberta-cup-3-4/
    Registration Closes: Jan 15, 23:59 MT https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=19740

    Nipika Loppet Jan 26/27:
The Nipika Loppet is a fun, relaxed race around the rolling trails of Nipika, 7.5KM for Juveniles & Juniors. This is a good race opportunity to get a race in if you can’t do the AB Cup or haven’t raced much this season. It is easy to just drive over for the day to do one of the races, or make a weekend of it and stay out there with your family: Classic Saturday and Skate on Sunday. Hilary will be there on Saturday to offer wax and race support. Please sign up by JAN 10 on the club sign up sheet if you are interested in doing this race: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-iwvXKnzDyoLd2Xe2hHOxOuYiugBCXU5fpQg-IbYAzs/edit#gid=0

    Training this week:

Tuesday(8) 4:30-6:30 LC/LC+ The NEW Strength program unrolled with Suzy. Bring outdoor shoes and clothes just in case Suzy wants to take us outside for a warm up. Meet upstairs at the BWTC.

Wednesday(9) 4:30-6:00 LC+ Classic Intensity. Meet at the teamroom.

Thursday(10) 4:30-6:30 LC/LC+ Skate distance with speed work. Meet at the teamroom.

Saturday(12) 900-12:00 LC/LC+ Alain: “We will go ski in classic up the Cascade Valley. Wax with Rode multigrade violet, but bring a violet and a cork in your drink belt. Also bring sufficient water and a snack. Parents are welcome (no dogs allowed). Maybe some athletes can make it to the Stoney Creek bridge! Our aim is to ski for 2.5-3.0hrs. Nice and slow but always with good technique!!!. Meet at the Minnewanka parking lot at 900am. Remember that you have to drive the longer way around at this time of year, so account for an extra 5min of driving.”.
