FSU Aka: Fun Stuff Uh-huh! Feb 12th, 2010

By Tarah Cieslak

Obviously, some of the most important aspects one needs to have to be involved in a sport like Biathlon, are those such as commitment, drive, positive attitude, passion...

And when putting these aspects into my own world of sport, I can relate well to the other parts of my life, I can include these qualities to pretty much everything important to me.

When thinking about it, I think that most people agree that it takes a lot of these qualities to pursue a goal, or reach something you have been aiming for.

This past year, especially fall / winter, I have been experiencing so much of life as I would call it "Growing Up", or at least somewhat. Lots of stress with school, decisions for the future, and everyday issues. I know that everybody goes through this, and I have noticed how differently people can, and chose to handle their own situation.

What I mainly wanted to share is not something necessarily inspiring, but something that has literally become a part of my everyday life. It's called FSU. FSU is my definition of making life great for yourself and everyone else possible. It's also become my way of breaking through barriers that stand in front of my weaknesses.

FSU can mean something different for everyone, to some people it might mean taking some time out of your day to do something simple and fun, to relieve stress and enjoy yourself.

To some people it may mean taking some time out of your day to relieve stress and do something fun that somebody else will enjoy.

It could also be used to feed the inner desires to go wild and do something silly... But no matter what it may mean today, the outcome is most often very satisfying. FSU does not in any way shape or form have to be something wild at all, it can be as simple as telling a crazy story, playing truth or dare, even posting not-so-useful Wiki-How articles in public places...

The reason I am writing about this is because I think that if everyone takes a moment each day to do something fun, silly, or even something that scares them, you would not believe how much strength you build up, how much confidence you gain, how many people you can get to know or reconnect with, and how much better a bad day can get...

I think that this is important for everyone, athletes, students, even parents, because if you can learn to live the way you want, you will get what you want, and even when you don't somebody else will, and you can be satisfied enough with simple happiness.
