42 Canmore Nordic athletes stormed Sovereign Lakes nordic centre in mid May. Athletes from 13-24 years old were present for the kick off camp of the 2010-2011 season. Ski conditions were great all week, despite some seriously warm training days (+10 while skiing).
The camp's typical day involves skiing at Sovereign Lakes in the morning and an afternoon training session down in the warm Vernon weather. This years activities included: many hours on skis, single track trail running, swimming in the lake, ab ripper X led by our very own Beau Thompson (youtube it...), cliff jumping, team building games/activites, team meetings, ski video watching and an awesome swim workout at the pool.
This year, CNSC stayed down in the valley bottom at Outback Resort. The living conditions were extremely nice, hopefully the athletes don't get used to that kind of treatment... next camp is this weekend in Radium. Athletes will be camping for this one, so back to basic accom for us! Camping camps have a great social atmosphere, so it'll be a fun one!
