Masters Training – Once & Twice a week programs
Focus: Technique and fitness improvement
Program open to adult men and women that focuses on technique development for the intermediate to advanced skier with a format that combines skill improvement with fitness and coaching. Dryland training involves running, strength training and ski specific exercises, including roller skiing. The early on-snow sessions focuses on strong technique fundamentals. Video analysis, waxing and cross training information is also included. Both classic and skate techniques are taught though the skier may wish to focus on only one, as the instruction is highly individualized. The program also includes a year-round training plan for those interested (including home training suggestions). Participants that decide to race receive waxing support in some local races/loppets. Participants should be able to run 45 minutes continuously on varied terrain.

Times: Tuesday 9:15am to 11:15am
Tuesday 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Thursday 9:15am to 11:15am
Thursday 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Cost: Once a week program:            Choose any 1 session/week    $300 ($200 if joining for the winter only, after Dec 4)
Twice a week program:           Choose any 2 sessions/week  $475

 Masters Program Poster

Self-Directed Skiers
Personalized training program for men and women age 20 and over. Individualized training plan designed with the skiers strength/weaknesses and goals in mind. Occasional ski technique and testing sessions offered (about 10 sessions/year).

Dates: ongoing, year-round

Get Fit For XC Skiing With Dryland Training
Introductory program open to adult men and women that would like to improve their fitness with ski conditioning exercises. This program is for beginners.

Dates: September 19 to November 14
Times: Wednesday 9:30am to 11:00am OR Thursday 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Cost: $100

Adult Recreational - Ski Lessons
A ten week program open to men and women divided into two 5-week sessions. This program gives the participants the skills to enjoy the great ski trails around the Canmore Nordic Centre and beyond. The program includes a gear/waxing lecture and lessons of various levels in classic or skating. Participants may select two classic sessions, two skate sessions, or one classic and one skate session. All ski lessons are taught by Canmore Nordic Ski Club instructors, and are trained & certified by the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI)
NOTE: Sessions will be based on demand; therefore, some choices may not be available. If a participant chooses to do two sessions in the same discipline, the program will not be a continuation but will be repetition (instructor may or may not be the same)
Level 1 – is for beginners in the sport or those who may have done a little skiing several years ago. This course will teach you the fundamentals of skiing and give you the skills to enjoy yourself on the easier trails.
Level 2 – is for those who need to refresh their skills in order to ski more efficiently and confidently on moderate terrain. uphill, downhill and on the level. This level is for people who have skied before and have reasonable confidence on skis. This level focuses on maintaining speed and rhythm on varied terrain.
Level 3 – is for those who want to refine their skills. This course will be given on the trails and will concentrate on diagnosis of problems and practice of improved technique. You will practice adapting your ski technique to different types of terrain. Participants should have the stamina to ski 10+ km.

Jackrabbit Parents - Adult Ski Lessons (Level 1)
Held in conjunction with the Jackrabbit program, parents of a Jackrabbit kid (only) can learn how to ski the classic technique. This course is for beginners in the sport or those who may have done a little skiing several years ago. This course will teach you the fundamentals of skiing and give you the skills to enjoy yourself on the easier trails.

Dates: January 8 to March 11
Time: Tuesday 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Cost:  $120
