Great job today everyone! I am so proud of everyone putting it all out there in a pretty intense environment today! Lots of emotional high and lows – and some great racing experience. Obstacle course always rocks too – I am glad I got to ski it on warm up!

Tomorrow – Sunday – is Classic Day!!! If your skis are up there already – great – they will be waxed and ready to go. If you want Canmore Nordic to wax your kids skis – please have them up to the Wax Room #2 – 2 hours before start of race.

U12 Mass Start 2x750m – Boys 11:50, Girls 12:04. We will warm up all together at 11am sharp! Please arrive around 10:30-ish, pick up your bib (AND leg numbers for left leg) by 10:45 – and be ready to roll for warm up at 11am. We will be back in start area at 11:30 ready to get checked in and chipped for boys at 11:35, and girls just after the boys start at 11:50.

After the race – return your bib and your chip, congratulate your competitors from all clubs, and cheer on your teammates, and thank a volunteer!

U10 3 rounds of 100m sprints: King’s Court format (similar to the U12 races today… less intense though) Please arrive at 11, pick up bib. and ready to warm up at 11:20 (likely with Coach Logan). It is a pretty small group – 5 girls and 4 boys for U10 Track attack. Again if there are parents around who want to help with warm up and corral some Jack Rabbit kids – that would be great.

    Here’s the official Info

    • on Sunday, U8 and U10 will be racing a 3 round King’s Court sprint
    • all racers will get to race 3 heats
    • check with your coach to collect the bibs for your racers
    • have racers ready to go at 12:10 in the stadium for a 12:20 start
    • the racers are already assigned to Round 1 heats starting with U8+U10 Boys Round 1 heats then U8+U10 Girls Round 1 heats
    • after each Round 1 and Round 2 heat, bring your racers from the finish back to the start to get ready for the next round
    • the racers will be assigned to new heats after each round
    • Round 3 will be the final round
    • the heat assignments can be found under the extra links on Zone 4 page
    • U8+U10 WILL NOT be on the regular Mass Start List

Remember RACES are all about having fun, going hard, and working and cheering together as a team!!! If your kid makes it to the start line, and ideally to the finish line, has a smile on their face, and some stories to tell – than it was a success! I am not focused on results – only that kids feel welcome, included, are respectful, and have a positive experience. The skills I want your child-athlete to develop on race weekends is organization, independence, and team building.
