Hello U14’s
Well I hope each of you has enjoyed a nice long break after your exchange weekend! Rachel and I were super impressed with how each of you behaved the whole week! Learning how to adapt to new environments, meet new people, is everything to expect from future race weeks, which makes these incredibly important skills to begin learning now.
I hope you all have a happy Family Week ahead of you, here’s what we have going on for practices:
Housekeeping
- Alberta Youth Champs.
Registration is open Here.
Details are available: Here.
- Calforex Cup 5 – Hinton.
Registration Closes Sunday: Here.
- Waxing skis for Pizza!
On Wednesday Feb 26th from 4:30-6:30 we will be waxing skis for LGMS, the money we make from this will go towards our end of the year pizza and jump party at the meadow. This is also a great chance for you to learn waxing techniques. Please sign up here if you will be able to make it. Sign up here
Monday (17) No Practice
Family Day – No practice. Enjoy your day away!
Tuesday (18) Skate Ski @ CNC
5:00-6:30.
Wednesday (19) Biathlon
1:00-2:30. Biathlon looks a little different today to give you a chance to pack everything up for Hinton. We will join the U16 training crew today. Just like a regular practice, only now in the sunshine…!
Thursday (20) No Biathlon
Pack your bags for Hinton!
Saturday (22) Adventure Skate Ski @ Mt. Shark
11:00-1:00. Meeting location here. Adventure ski day! Our U16/18 crew is heading out to Mt. Shark for the day, and we’d like for you to come along! Bring a packed lunch to eat after your ski, a full water belt, and a snack (or 2).
Caitlin and myself will be Hinton for this weekend, so Coach Matt and Coach Morgan will be your coaches to look out for today.
U16/18’s will be starting at 10:00, and will return to the parking lot to take you out on to the trails at 11:00. Remember to give yourself some time to get ready in the lot so you can be on your skis, and ready to go as soon as a coach comes by for 11!
We’d like to know how many of you to expect for this day so we don’t leave the parking lot without anyone. If you intend to come out, please let me (Mark) know by Friday night.
Please check back to the forum Friday night for updates regarding road/avalanche conditions, should we need to make any changes.
Calforex Cup #5 (22 – 23)
All Calforex updates will be posted in the U16/18 Biathlon forum, under Calforex Cup #5.
