Today was some great learning opportunities out there racing lots of sprint heats and challenging yourselves.  Lots of great personal wins from what we coaches saw. Well done team.

Good job submitting all your daily health checks.  We were one of the few teams to have everyone complete them.  One more day of 7am check submission.

If you did not drop off your classic skis this afternoon in front of the hotel with us, please deliver them to Matt’s room (#122) this evening before 9pm.  We did an additional layer of glide wax, prepared the kick zones, and applied your klister binder today.  The couple of skis that missed the memo (it was last minute) will get done in the morning.

Sunday- We will be having an individual start classic race as per the race notice. The course crew will be going out tonight to groom, then fill the tracks where they are set too deep and hit the grass.  Check in with your coach when you arrive to get the latest course beta about where to ski for the best conditions.  The plan is to have 2 tracks set around the course on the “best snow line”

Technique zone will be on final hill on the course.  Stride or herring bone through here, don’t double pole.  This is also a great place to really go for it as the remainder of the course is a gradual down to the finish.

Planned start times for tomorrow, but check zone 4 for your time:

Distances and courses will be (on zone4 as well):

Stadium diagram below, but the change is you do not have to cross the lap lane to access the start:

Arrive at the venue at 10:40AM  to collect your bib, check in for course beta, and get situated.  Warm up will be like today, all together at 10:50.

Day 3 of racing at Westerns is a chance for you all to rise to the challenge.  We have completed many many amazing hours of training over the past few years.  This is when that fitness shows and you learn to push when you are a bit tired.
