    Hello Team,

Great work everyone up on the Haig and packing in lots of on your own training for those were down in town. With the smoke season now upon us, it is important to be patient with your training as to not suck too much gunk into your lungs. Coaches will monitor closely and do our best to adjust training as per our guidelines 1 hour before the start of the session. As we all know, conditions can change quickly, so be ready to adjust.

Thursday’s will be our typical long adventure day. Coaches are meeting this week to dial in the plan for the next 5 weeks, so check back for a update to help with planning for those days as it will require a bit of driving to get to trailheads so we can take advantage of all the amazing opportunities we have here in our backyard.

    Training this week:

    Monday(27)
    Rundle/Cascade
9:00-11:00 New strength plan roll out and Skate Rollerski Agility.  XC will all be in the gym first. Meet in the BWTC gym.

    Tuesday(28)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
9:00-11:00 Classic rollerski with technique work. Meet at the teamroom.

    Wednesday(29)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
9:00-10:30 Classic rollerski intensity. Z5 to Z6.  Meet at the teamroom.

Cascade- 4:30-5:30 Strength with Chelsea at the BWTC.

    Thursday(30)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
9:00-1:30 We will hike/run Healy Pass today. With the late spring, the wild flowers should be prime in the alpine now, and make for an amazing day in the mountains. The faster moving group will drop down to Egypt Lake while the regular speed will stop at the pass. Pack your bear spray, rain jacket, 2L of water, and 4 bars (or equivalent snacks) to have about 200 grams of carbs for the session. Meet at the base of Sunshine Village.

Parents invited to tailgun for all our Thursday adventures, but remember we will hike up and run down and want to stay as groups.  The knees don’t always enjoy the downhill running after a few years under our belts…
