    Hello TTs,

March has arrived, and with that beautiful ski last Saturday, it sure feels like spring is in the air! It has been an amazing season, but it must come to an end eventually.
The final day for this season will be our Tuesday evening session on March 16. Biathletes will wrap up on Thursday March 18.

This Saturday is another opportunity to ski a bit faster than usual. If you can attend, be sure to sign up by Tuesday evening on the link emailed out last week. We are still looking for a few more parents to volunteer for the day, and with no races this year, this is one of the few opportunities to fill the volunteer bond. Volunteer sign up on the same link.

Training this week (unique for Monday & Tuesday):
    Monday(1) Skate @ CNC
POD 6: 5:00-6:15 Meet at the firehydrant
POD 7: 5:00-6:15 Meet at the teamroom
POD 8: 6:15-7:30 Meet at the firehydrant
POD 9: 6:15-7:30 Meet at the teamroom
The first 2 PODs will be taking advantage of the light and completing a scavenger hunt. The second 2 PODs will be working on downhill skills and racing agility. 2nd pod, don’t forget your headlamp.

    Tuesday(2) Classic @ CNC
POD 8: 5:00-6:15 Meet at the firehydrant
POD 9: 5:00-6:15 Meet at the teamroom
POD 6: 6:15-7:30 Meet at the firehydrant
POD 7: 6:15-7:30 Meet at the teamroom
The first 2 PODs will be taking advantage of the light and completing a scavenger hunt. The second 2 PODs will be working on downhill skills and racing agility. 2nd pod, don’t forget your headlamp.

Wax Recommendation: Swix Universal Klister covered with 2 layers of Rode Violet. Start with a clean ski base, apply your klister, let it cool outside (while you wax the other ski is usually long enough), then lightly crayon on your rode violet. Cork fast and lightly, apply the second layer so the klister is fully covered with a thin layer, finish with a light fast cork. Don’t fear the klister! This is the only way we can get better at skiing on it and applying it. With Nationals in Whistler next year all you 2007 athletes will be racing on a lot of klister that week.

Be sure to sign up for Saturday (if you can come) by today at the latest.

    Thursday(4) Biathlon @ CNC
    POD Biathlon: 4:45-6:15

    Saturday(6) Skate @ Mt Shark
POD 6-9: 8:15-10:00 Meet in the XC stadium just West of the parking lot.
We will space you out when you arrive.
    Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/RztMzYgoNJ1PngQ98

The drive form Canmore to Mt Shark is 45min to 1hr depending on your comfort level driving the Smith Dorrien Road. It has been in good shape this year, but check the forum Friday as the section leaving from Canmore up to the gap can be closed for avalanche control. If the road is closed, we will change the session and move it to the Nordic Centre.

We will ski the loop in PODs to start the session so you all know the trails. We’ll finish up our group warm up, then ski the loop faster in waves similar to the RMSC. Final details to be shared on Wednesday or Thursday.
