    Hello Team,

Well done this week laying it down with some HARD intensities.  All this work does take a toll on the body, so be sure to give yourself the down time to realize all the gains and stay healthy. That is the focus of this week- taper and recovery.  Ideally keeping some nice frequency of training (number of days of activity), but shortening the duration and intensity to allow the body to feel great come March 9.  Do your best to get good rest (9 hr of sleep/night) and eat lots of real food.

For those not heading to Nationals, fear not, the season is not done!  We will all have a few more fun events coming up still to wrap up the season:

March 21: Nordiq Alberta End of Season Bash.  Canmore Nordic and Foothills will partner to offer a fun race the morning of the bash. The award gala that night is optional.

March 27-29: Biathlon Nationals ECO Aim categories.  That’s right, you can come out and race biathlon nationals with no experience necessary.  A fun way for us XC skiers to get out and try some shooting while skiing.  And it gets you out to support your teammates.

It will also be regular training the week of March 16, so a great chance to continue building fitness and being on our skis.

    Training this week:
    Monday(2)
    Rundle/Cascade
4:45-6:45 Skate Agility & Tactics and Strength in the BWTC. U18 gym first, U16 ski first.

    Wednesday(4)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
4:45-6:00 Classic technique. Meet in biathlon stadium at 5pm.

    Thursday(5)
    OYO check training peaks

    Friday(6)-Saturday(14) XC Nationals
