Hello U14’s
I hope you all had an enjoyable AYC this weekend, can’t wait to hear all the stories on Tuesday…
Well March is surely here for good now, it’s our last month of training let’s make it a good one! The weather is perfect (A little too perfect maybe), so come on out and enjoy!
Here’s what we’ve got going on this week:
Housekeeping / March Important Dates
- Nationals registration is open until Thurs. March 6, after that it will cost an extra $100, and close permanently on March 10.
You are welcome to join and race for a maximum of 2 days during the week. We recommend a combination of Individual Skate or Classic Sprints, and the Team Relay. Relay Teams are selected by the division (Alberta- so Ivan Babikov) and will be dependent on points from AB Cup series.
If you’re not sure if these races are appropriate for you, or what races to do please talk to Caitlin or Mark before registering.
Registration is available here.
- Last days of practice (I’m not crying, you’re crying) will be on March 25th for XC, and 27th for Biathlon. Remember, we will have no practice throughout the week of nationals, March 17-24.
- On Saturday the 29th, we may have a club wide invite to Mt. Shark for a season wrap-up, conditions dependent. Stay tuned.
Monday (3) No Practice
Take the night off after all that AYC action!
Tuesday (4) Skate Ski @ CNC
5:00-6:30. Meet in the stadium. We’re going to take a look at the course for the nationals relay many of you are planning on attending, with a little relay practice action of our own.
Thursday (6) Biathlon
4:45-6:15. While having been on hiatus this year, monthly challenge is back, and the month of March will include today as an extra day. Each day in march will have a race based challenge starting at 5:05pm. You need to make sure you’re zeroed on time for the start of each day!
Remember your setup sequence from last Thursday.. it’ll be back today.
Saturday (8) Classic Ski
1:00-3:00. A real life Saturday practice, in its natural habitat! Feels like a while since we had one of these, we’re going on a nice long classic ski out there.
