There will be a separate forum post about the upcoming Alberta Cup 5/6 race (in conjunction with Westerns, World Junior and U23 trials) on Jan 30-Feb 1.
Right now all the info I have is from the race notice available on Zone 4 – but I will summarize and condense it.
For now – today – Jan 25 – is the absolute deadline to register!!!

MON Jan 26
CLASSIC SKIING – Rode Multigrade will be the wax your kids skis will love! Regular time and place 5:15-6:45 -top of flag row.

THUR Jan 29
SKATE SKIING – ONLY 1 HOUR for practice – 5:15-6:15. This is because there are races all weekend fri / sat / sun – and I need to get to a coaches meeting by 7pm. We will pre-ski the race courses for the weekend (classic interval start fri, sprint course sat, skate mass start sunday) and go over instructions with the kids.

This race is a big race weekend for many of the older kids in the club! The only one bigger is nationals…. unless some of them make the Worlds team – which is some of their goal. If your kid is inspired – or wants inspiration – plan to hang at the CNC for the weekend – make a sign for your favourite skier(s), bring some cowbells and plan to take in the racing.
