    Hello TTs,

    Great work to everyone who was able to attend the training camp down in Beaver Mines! That was a really great chunk of training. You should be tired at the start of the week, but focus on getting lots of sleep and you will bounce back stronger than before. That is how training works 🙂

    This Saturday is an important fundraiser for our club: the Highway Clean Up. With the cancellation of the Canada Day Run, it is even more vital to make this happen. Check your email for the sign up link.

    Just a little reminder from the Club Code of Conduct everyone read during registration, Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child finds their group if they are late. It is also the parents’ responsibility to ensure their child is picked up on time. Athletes will be sent to the Bill Warren Training Centre or the Day Lodge if the parent is more than 15 minutes late. We coaches will always do our best to start and finish sessions on time. Unfortunately the BWTC and Day Lodge are both closed due to COVID, so please try to be on time.

    Keep up the good work with the health screening! Don’t forget to fill it in, otherwise you will not be allowed to participate in the session.

    For Saturday’s the pods will be training at the same time, 1 coach with each pod. We need your help as parents to make these fun longer sessions happen by coming out to be a tailgunner for the group (just 1 parent needed per session). Very straight forward, just move along at the back of the group running, hiking, skiing… whatever we may be doing. If you are available, please sign up on the following link for one of the upcoming Saturday sessions. I will update the sheet each month with the upcoming workouts as the planning comes together based on weather/snow/trail conditions.     Monday(14) – No Training due to camp.

    Tuesday(15) Biathlon @ CNC
    POD 4-Biathletes – 4:45-6:15

    Wednesday(16) Skate Rollerski @ CNC
    POD 5- 5:00-6:15
    POD 4- 6:15-7:30
    Bring your skate boots, skate poles, skate rollerskis (only 1 athlete has rented skis for the year), helmet, gloves, drink belt, and appropriate clothing for the day. We will be focusing on 1 skate technique and agility skiing around the parking lots that are not in use.

    PM Session Cancelled due to smoke. The AQHI is forecasted to climb throughout the day, and your young developing lungs are sensitive. I recommend to train in your house this afternoon, spin bike or your favorite youtube strength video (nothing too intense/ breathing hard).
