    Hello U14’s

Here you will find the details for your races. We will not have a team meeting for the events, everything you need will be available here.

If you have questions about the event, please email me. For immediate race day information or concerns, please send me a text as that will be an easier way to communicate.

To be updated as the week goes on.

    Friday (21) 4x-3km Mixed Relay

    Details Pt. 2
    • Start List available here.
    • Official teams will be starting at 10:30:00 for many of you, unofficial teams will be starting at 14:00:00. If you can, stick around to cheer on your teammates!
    • Look to arrive on site our usual 90min before start, check in with coaches and hopefully find your teammates
    • Your teammates are likely to ski their 3km portions of the race in 10min, so if you are the 4th starter, you don’t need to be in the pen for the first start but make your way their with 15min to spare (If the math is hard, ask Mark in the morning)
    • If you only have one pair of skis, don’t worry, we’ll make sure to get something on them for your warmup in the morning
    • A 10 4 2 1 1 style warmup will serve you well, but I recommend extending your 10 minutes out to 20 minutes to get things really moving. Remember: The shorter the race, the longer the warmup.
    • There’s going to be lot’s of action on the race site all athletes registered will be racing at some point in the day, but just remember where and when you need to be, and you’ll be alright!
    Details Pt. 1
I’ve just come to the realization that the forum only received a partial update and not the full one I wrote out. Please accept my apologies for the late notice of this message and details for tomorrow’s race.

Two of you will be racing in the unofficial teams (at the same time as the other U16 teams, no worries there), I am yet to receive those lists, when I do I will send them directly to you, and post to the forum.
We are looking to receive your skis before the race tomorrow, today if possible, especially if you are the first classic starter.
The wax room will be open here a little past 5pm if you are able to drop them off tonight. If you are coming up around then please feel free to send me a message so I can stay a little later if needed.
If you can’t make it at all, no to worry. We will just need the skis a little earlier if possible on site tomorrow morning, at least 90min before your start.

    Tuesday (18) 1km Classic Sprint

Just a few quick notes for those few doing the classic sprints below.

They are knockout style sprints, with only the top 30 entering to the knockout after the qualifier. The U16 category is very competitive, our goals for you are just to get out there and get the best race you can!

We’re looking to have your skis in hand (As there are only 2 of you) at least 1.5hrs before start please. It will be a little crazy in the wax room, so please get them there for then so they can enter the lineup of skis.

Bibs in the team room. Chips at the start. Check in with us as you arrive!

Remember, even though it’s a shorter race, we’re still looking for a longer warm up than you might do for distance. Give yourself a good 45min for warmup, with 10 4 2 1 1!!

Monday (17) 5km Skate Interval Start

Base wax for skate skis: PS6

Here are our the notes from tonights Team Captain’s Meeting:

Start list is available on Zone4

It will be busy at CNC all week. Do your best to car pool and save on parking. Budget the extra 10 minutes it takes to park and walk the length of the facility to get from P4 to the team room.

Plan to be at the team room at least 1.25 hours before you start to drop off your skis, collect your bib and check in with coaches.

Bibs will be in the team room. Chips will be at the start. Race skis will be ready 20 min before your start to give you plenty of time to walk from the teamroom to the stadium. Do not cross the race trails, but enter the stadium at the far end by the day lodge.

Awards will be 45 minutes after the last finisher all week. If you are on the podium, wear your club training jacket. Represent!

King and Queen of the mountain. The major climb (finger to top of wall) and major decent (weather station to bottom of sharp corner)  will be separately timed within the individual start skate and mass start classic. Awards will be given for each category (U16 B, U16G….) at the banquet for the fastest climb and the fastest decent in the 2 races.
