Well done today team!  Lot’s of really great racing out there and solid progress with technique.

Tomorrow: 2 races in 1 day!  U16+ will be in the XC stadium and the U14 and younger down in the Biathlon all happening at the same time.  750+ racers on site and starting within about 2hr window.

Weather ??? Calling for low of 0 C high of +4 C Partly cloudy.

Parking- It’s going to be bad= too many cars, not enough space. PLEASE CARPOOL, be respectful of the parking attendants and park where told.

If you have not dropped off your skis, do that first thing when you arrive, ideally 1.5hr before your start. If you dropped off your skis, 1:15 is a good arrival time. Remember the sprint warm up should be a little longer with more intensity so you are HOT and READY at the start.
Bibs in the teamroom for Qualifier.
    Qualifier start list on Zone4.

    Top 30 in each category move onto Finals: U23+, U20, U18, U16

Bibs and leg stickers for the heats will be picked up by the athlete 45 minutes before the heats for that category starts. Heats will alternate between males and females of each category:
    U23+  11:30 Heats Start
    U20    12:50 Heats Start
    U18     2:10  Heats Start
    U16     3:30  Heats Start

Note the time between you qualifier and heats to determine if you want to stay on site, or go home. Typical arrival for the heats will be 1hr before your start. Warm up is 1/2 of your usual sprint warm up duration.

Starts- It will be quick being 15 second intervals with a lot of racers out there. Be sure to get your chip and get in line to be ready to go on time. Lots of missed/late starts so far in the event.  But, don’t show up 30 min before your start. Nail that timing so you are still hot from your warm up.

We will plan to have race skis ready 15 min before your start as conditions have fluctuated a lot these past few days. We will push our testing as close as possible to get you the best skis we can. Just pop by the teamroom, grab skis and go to the start. No need for testing being a skate race.

Awards will be 45 min after heats end. Top 6 for U20 and older categories, Top 3 U18, Top 3 U16 Year of Birth.

Remember to focus on each part of the day as a unique race: Qualifier and then Heats.  For the Qualifier, it will go quick, but still think about going faster and faster as you climb the hill and maximize your speed over the top to get the MAX speed into your down hill.

You have done the work with lots of training, now is the fun part to put all that work to use. Let’s get out there tomorrow, and have a good time skiing fast!
