Trevor KiersKeymasterHowdy howdy howdy 🤠
(just like Woody from Toy Story)We’ve got racing coming up this weekend, which is very exciting! This post includes preliminary information, and I’ll update it after each Team Captains Meeting (TCM) on each evening once everything is confirmed.
🧼 Waxing Plan
- Skate skis (Saturday & Sunday):
- Please arrive with skis scraped and ready to rock and roll
- Glide wax: PS6
- Classic skis (Friday):
- Skis should be scraped
- Kick zone clean and sanded
🛠 Important:
We’re aiming to collect race skis the day before the race.- Thursday night practice:
- Please bring your classic skis to hand in
- We’ll do some prep work on them Thursday night
🎯 Goals for the Weekend
Yes, this is a big race. Yes, there will be lots of people on course.
But none of that changes what we’re actually after. This weekend is about how YOU show up and race.
What we are looking for:
- A solid, well-timed warm-up
- Fueling and hydrating properly before racing
- Smart choices during the race
- Staying focused on your effort, your process, and your skiing
If you do those things well, the results will take care of themselves.
Friday – Classic Individual Start – Start List
- Race: 2 × 2 km classic
- Course: See course map below
- Warm-up:
- Start 40 minutes before your race
- Aim for the 10–4–2–1–1 warm-up
⚠️ Reminder from Kimberley:
You were very enthusiastic last time and started warming up way too early 😄
Let’s make sure our warm-up timing is accurate and controlled.➡️ Please also have your skate skis ready to drop off on Friday.

Saturday – Sprint Day
Note to parents – for the 2 weekend days, there will be over 780 racers out there, soooo parking will be very limited! Be sure to car pool if possible, its going to be very busy. Give yourself an extra 10 min to park. The 2nd floor of the biathlon building will be open for a hang out space.
- Format:
- Qualifier + ladder-style heats
- Collect your bib at the teamroom and keep it all day
- You will get a leg sticker. It goes on your left leg.
- Due to the awesome field size, heats will be separated to U14 girls, U14 boys.
- You will have a heat about every 15 minutes (just enough time to recover)
- Location: Biathlon area
- Course: Very similar to the AB Cup course we raced in December
- Timing:
- Arrive 1hr before your start.
- Qualifiers start at 9:30 AM
- Start list on Zone4
- U14 Girls ladder heats: 11:30 AM
- U14 Boys ladder heats: 12:30

Sunday – Mass Start Skate – Start List
