    Hey biathletes,

    Lots of items this week as we hit the snow and gear up for winter in earnest.

    Flex testing- we are working through the U14s at the moment and will dive fully into the U16/U18s in early November.  If you would like a quick check to see about keeping a ski or putting it in the swap, we can do that this week–just let your coach know.

    The annual Strides and Glides event is on Thursday. This is a fun, low key race and great for everyone to come out and do (athletes and parents). You can do it as a team, which makes a manageable distance for everyone.  If you don’t race, it is a great social event to meet other parents/families. This year the event will be a joint fundraiser for our club as well as the World Cup Academy.  More info here: https://www.albertaworldcup.com/strides-glides-october-fundraiser/

    Starting November 6 we will be training in the dark every day after school. You have 2 weeks to get your head lamp sorted.  No head lamp= no training. This is for your safety and your teammates safety.

    Don’t forget to log your dryfire minutes here! At the time of typing you have 463 minutes left to dryfire as a team to get pizza–that means 78 minutes each this week, or about 11 minutes per day. Piece of cake.

    Final STUR of the year!  The U14s will be joining the challenge today, so get ready to cheer on the next generation of racers in our club while you cool down.  The first starter for U16/U18 will be at 5:05.  Plan your warm up accordingly (at least 6 min of intensity to hit the line hot). Let your coach know if you will not be racing, but we will not change the start list times.
