FOCUS: Continued development of overall fitness and ski specific skills of children age 12-13, who have completed the Track Attack program or similar level.
This stage is the window of optimal trainability for aerobic training, and is a lot of fun! Developing sound technique is again a major component at this stage. It is also the first step into the racing stream at the club.
We will attend out of town races, camps, and run an Experience Canada Exchange every two years. When the program is attending these away events (which are not mandatory, but a lot of fun), those are considered the training sessions. There will not be additional sessions offered here in town.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
U14-1 (12 year olds):
DATES: Program runs from September to March.
TIMES: There are 3 XC sessions per week on average. Starting early September training will be after school on Monday and Tuesday from 5:00pm-6:30pm and Saturday from 1:00-3:00
Biathlon training starts mid-September, and is every Thursday from 4:45pm – 6:15pm This day is in addition to the 3 days of XC training noted above. Occasional shooting sessions may be added alternating with XC practices in the fall.

U14-2 (13 year olds):
DATES: Program runs from May to March
TIMES: There is 1 session per week May to August. Full program September to March (3 XC sessions per week on average). Starting early September, training will be after school on Monday and Tuesday from 5:00pm-6:30pm and Saturday from 1:00-3:00
