The plan is to classic ski both sessions this week. Frozen Thunder usually requires klister application and for simplicity we tend to skate skiing until we have optimal conditions for classic. With the snow in the forecast, I am optimistic that we can get away with classic skiing and stick wax. Be sure to check the forum on Wednesday night for any updates on Thursdays wax recommendation.

Today is the last chance to register for Alberta Cup this weekend. We have twenty kids registered so good times are in the forecast! Race information will be posted on the forum and more details are below. If you are looking for inspiration, your coach will allow some screen time. How a race day looks
Racing for Track Attack is highly encourage and a great opportunity to try our best with a bunch of fun kids. The program is designed to for maximum fun and to build independence in the athletes. Canmore Nordic is responsible for taking the kids on a warm up and bringing them the start line. Parents please cheer loudly and meet your kids at the finish line.

Details for the race weekend (arrival time and start times) will be posted on the forum the night before each race after the coaches meeting and approximately at about 8 pm. Race start lists will be posted on Zone4.ca.  The glide wax recommendation will be posted on Thursday using the most accurate weather forecast for the weekend. Glide waxing is not required but if you are feeling inspired, go for it. If you are feeling overwhelmed, fear not. Glide waxing will not affect racing outcomes at the Track Attack age and is not required. For the classic race, the club will apply grip wax. Instruction for when to drop off classic skis (glide waxed and clean kick zones by you) to the team room for grip waxing by our wax team. There are no awards for U10. High five’s all around!
