Classic skate sprints on Saturday. Same course as last year Westerns. Midget and juvenile= 500m, older= 1km

Weather: -14 tonight. Max of -10 on Saturday, some wind

1st qualifier is at 9am (open men), 9:13 (open women), 9:25 (masters), 9:35 (jr boys), 9:40 (jr girls), 9:50 (juv boys), 9:57 (juv girls).

    – Check http://www.zone4.ca for your exact start time.
    – Arrive at the team room no later than 75 minutes before your start.
-Talk to Monika or Jeanie at our team room door for details on what to do with your skis and where to pick up your bib.
    – You will need to pick up your own bib at the CNC if you haven’t signed and submitted a waiver. Note that parents of minors need to sign this waiver.

    – We will wax your race skis with a possible top layer of glide and grip waxing. I suggest you prepare a pair of training skis at home (Swix blue extra). We will have a few waxes available to wax your training skis, but outside without a bench.

    – Race skis need to be marked with: your name, “sat race”, number of layers they require, and the grip zones clearly marked.

    – The first heat will start at 1pm and will go with midgets. Approx. start time for juvenile is 1:45pm, 2:40 for juniors, etc… Ask a coach when you will start your heats when you are back in the team room after your qualifier. I recomend you go home in-between your qualifier and your heat. Do a light run for 15min in-between as well. There will be 3 minutes between each heat.

    – Course is closed at 8:50, it will reopen between 11:00 & 12:50. Warm up on the Banff trail if the course is closed. NEVER SKI IN THE REVERSE DIRECTION ON THE RACE COURSE.

    – Awards: there will be 3 awards ceremonies during the day 1) After the mini-midgets 2) After the juniors 3) after the seniors. Stay tuned for location and exact time. Please wear you CNSC jacket at the award ceremony.

    – Bring lots of spare clothes and extra mitts, tuque, gloves, socks, etc….. Better to have more than too little.

    – Due to the extraordinary size of our team, you will need to hang out in the daylodge when not training or racing.

Sunday race information will be available later on Saturday. There is a possibility than some races will be canceled on Sunday (forecasted high is -19 on Sunday).

    See ya later. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
