    Hello Team,

Another great week in the books as we get lucky with the smoke for team training.  Hopefully it continues! Tim and Trevor are working to crunch the numbers from the pacing project. Data available HERE

Note Aug 15 is the sign up deadline for Kimberley so we can drop unused condos and not be charged, thus increasing the cost for everyone.  Link here

For those who missed last week, here’s what’s coming your way for the rest of the summer Thursday Adventures:
Aug 13: Mt Allen from Ribbon Creak. Older athletes point to point finishing at Deadman’s Flats.
Aug 20: Rollerski Canmore to Banff Springs, Run back to CNC on the Riverside trail. U16 start at Carrot Creek. 1 parent volunteer needed to shuttle shoes/rollerskis.
Aug 27: Iceline Trail!  It is a long drive, but one of the most amazing trails in the area.

    Training this week:

    Monday(10)
    Rundle/Cascade
9:00-11:00  Classic rollerski agility and Strength. Due to attendance numbers XC and BIA will all be in the gym together for the 10-11 part of the workout. Meet in front of the BWTC.

    Tuesday(11)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
9:00-11:00 Run on the horseshoe and G8 loop.  Meet at the Lady Mac trailhead.

    Wednesday(12)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
9:00-10:30 Classic rollerski intensity. We will have a little adventure today getting off the typical loop and use the Academy’s favorite hill up Olympic Drive.  Meet at the boat launch. We will warm up on the newly paved trail, then do some Z5 intensities up toward the nordic centre finishing with a few on the rollerski loop.  Session will end at the teamroom.

    4:30-5:30 Cascade Strength with Chelsea.

    Thursday(13)
    Grotto/Rundle/Cascade
9:00-12:00 Run a big loop from CNC. Due to significant rain, cold temperatures, and the committing nature of a point to point run, we will play it safe and save Mt Allen for the fall. Meet at the teamroom for a 3hr run/hike. We will hit Highline, Cloudline, maybe Guy Lafleur too to make a nice loop about 15-20km long. Dress appropriately for the forecased 8C and rain. You can always tie a rain jacket around your waist or stuff it in a running vest/pack. 1.5L water and 2 snacks for the workout. We will break into up to 4 groups and ensure you are all running in a proper low Z2. The goal is to move well for 3 hours, not race. Maximize our time at a steady distance pace.
