    Lots of racing and exciting things happening this month. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, rest and drinking plenty of water. December can be quite cold so make sure you are layering well and covering your head if it’s snowing OR colder than -5.

    Great work so far on people remembering their headlamps – keep this up. No headlamp = No workout.

    Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd Alberta Cups 1 & 2
    Saturday Individual start SKATE – 1 x 2.5km **Qualification race for the Alberta Winter Games
    Sunday Mass start CLASSIC – 2 x 1.5km
    ^^See race notice and information emailed out by Coach Matt to check for ski preparation details. Warm up times will be posted on the Forum after the Team Captains Meetings on Friday and Saturday night (after 7pm).

    Monday 4th
    NO WORKOUT – REST after AB Cups races
    For those who did not race on Sunday – Classic technique session 5 – 6:30pm

    Wednesday 6th
    Skate working on body position and maintaining offset technique when going fast.

    Saturday 9th
    No formal session today. Get your family and or friends and go for a long distance ski. If you need a suggestion……ski conditions are excellent in Kananaskis at the moment. We suggest a classic tour up to Blueberry hill to the lookout starting from Elk Pass Parking lot.

    Monday 11th
    Classic technique with striding acceleration work and practice cornering in the tracks 

    Wednesday 13th
    Skating distance with technique challenges along the way.
    Deadline for registration of AB Cups 3 & 4 Edmonton. http://www.zone4.ca

    Friday 15th – Sunday 17th AB Cups 3 & 4 Edmonton
    Friday meet at Strathcona Wilderness Centre for course inspection, time TBD.
    Race type and distances TBC.

    Monday 18th
    NO WORKOUT – REST for those who did not attend AB Cups in Edmonton.
    Skate technique for those who did NOT race at the AB Cups. 5 – 6:30pm at CNC.

    Tuesday 19th
    PARENT SPORT PSYCHOLOGY “Motivation to win in sport and in life” 6:30-8:00PM, BWTC

    Wednesday 20th
    Classic skills team challenge. 3 teams, 3 stations involving speed, agility and balance. Team with the most points get bragging rights!! Special guests Thomas Manktelow and Laurence Dumais (AWCA) are back to help out!)

    Wednesday 27th

    Relay Races at CNC. Time TBD.

    Saturday 30th
    Session TBD.
