    Hello Team,

Red Deer AB Cup Cancelled- Updated team training below

Looking to next week with the World Cup, we will have amazing opportunity for seeing the best racers in the world racing on our home courses!  More details to come, but there will be volunteer opportunities for U16/U18 to be ambassadors on race days, forerunners (selection invitations coming soon from Nordiq Alberta for those who applied), and all Canmore Nordic U16/U18 will have the opportunity to participate in the Dress Rehearsal to get all the media and timing dialed in for the races.  This is a super neat opportunity for you to ski the world cup trails, get on camera, and will get your own copy of the dress rehearsal race typically complete with live timing, splits, headings, and of course World Cup style footage of you skiing!  We will meet Thursday, Feb 8th at 1:45 in the XC Stadium.  Please sign up on this sheet by Thursday (Feb 1) so I can confirm with the FIS Media team that we will have enough athletes out to ski.

    Training this week:

Monday(29)– Rest due to Edmonton AB Cup

4:45-6:45 Skate Ski with international World Cup Athletes!

Warm up on your own and meet at 5pm in the XC Stadium.  We will be joined tonight by Patricija Eiduka (LAT), Katarina Janetova (CZE), and James Clugnet (GBR) The Williams family is helping them with housing during their world cup races, and they are giving back to our community by coming out to join us for training tonight!  We will ski together on the WC 5km, do some sprints, and have a Q & A.  Wrack your brains with anything about life as a world cup racer.

4:45-6:15 Classic Bulls Eye intensity.  Warm up OYO and meet in the XC Stadium at 5pm.  Tonight is a great opportunity to practice skiing on your klister skis!  We will stick to the Man Made snow, so plenty of coverage.  Wax with a mix of Universal Klister (75%) and Rode Rosa (25%).  The main focus of intensities will be long powerful striding- NO RUNNING.

9:00-12:00 Combo of Skate and Classic distance at CNC.  Meet in the XC stadium.  We will skate first.  Pack 2 bars to eat during your session.
