    Hello all,

Welcome to the Train to Train program for 2015-2016. It will be a year with lots of outdoor adventures, different activities including ski striding, rollerskiing, agility and technique work; some personal and physical challenges but lots of fun working together towards our goals. ❗ ❗

Below is an overview of how the program will look for September. Some sessions may change so keep checking the Forum weekly.

    Wednesday 9th: 4:45 – 7:00pm
Grassi knob run/hike with the LC program. Parents are welcome to join in the session.

    Monday 14th: 5 – 6:30pm
Run and fun games LGMS and Flintstones park.

    Wednesday 16th: 4:45 – 6:45pm
Run with LC program. Location TBC.

    Saturday 19th: Time TBC
Family fun day. Lots of different ski activities for skiers and parents  , striding/rollerskiing/agility followed by a bbq lunch and program information session. Would be great to have at least 1 parent from each family present, 2 is fine of course!!

    Monday 21st: 5 – 6:30pm
Introduction to rollerski agility @ The Nordic Centre. Rollerskis can be rented from the Club. Skiers need to have their own boots, poles and helmet.

    Wednesday 23rd: 5 – 6:30pm
Run with poles including surprise strength and speeds @ Elizabeth Rummel and The Bench.

    Saturday 26th: Tent Ridge
Club Hike! Tent Ridge, Kananaskis. This is a family day hike with all skiers in the TA, T2T and LC programs so make sure you put it on the calendar so you can join us! T2T and LC skiers will head off to do a loop, TA skiers will head up and back the shorter ridge with the aim of having lunch in around about the same spot, some where on the ridge. It’s an excellent hike, not too challenging although if you’re afraid of heights it will be since you walk along the ridge line of the mountain.Views are great from the ridge!

*Where the session says parents welcome this means just parents, not younger siblings. Where the sessions says family welcome, come one come all!

Wow, what an action packed and fun first month! 😛 😛

Good Character is more to be praised than outstanding talent.
Most talents are to some extent a gift.
Good character by contrast is not given to us.
We have to build it piece by piece by thought, choice, courage and determination.

First session for the program WOO HOO!

    Wednesday 9th: 4:45 – 6:45pm
Run/hike Grassi knob with the LC program. Please note this is earlier than our usual start time and also longer than our usual session however it will be a nice relaxed hike with some running at the start and finish and a great opportunity to get to know our new team mates and team mates in the program above. The group will divide into smaller groups moving at different paces so everyone should be able to find a speed they are comfortable with. Parents are most welcome to join us! Meet at the Peaks of Grassi playground/park at 4:40pm ready for a 4:45pm departure, with a drink belt/drink bottle..

    NO SESSION ON SATURDAY.
