    HI Team

Congrats to all those who attended Nationals, we had an amazing showing as a club and province!!! As a club we brought home 13 medals, the same amount as the entire province of BC!! On top of that everyone put together amazing performances and represented Alberta perfectly. It really was a great week of racing, congrats to all!!

This week, in honour of those going to XC Nationals, we will do some classic sessions!!

    Monday (8): OFF, rest!

    Tuesday (9): 2 groups:

Those not going to XC Nationals: Arrive at 5:00pm, ready to ski (skis waxed already), if you need help waxing, arrive by 4:45pm.

Those going to XC Nationals: Meet at the team room at 4:45pm. Bring the following with you to ship to Whitehorse: 2 pairs of classic skis (medium and soft) + classic poles. We will put the poles in tubes, could you bring yours if you own one. We will also do a team meeting to sort out last minute logistics followed by a short classic workout (Z1 & technique). Note that you might have to borrow some equipment for training in classic for the remainder of that week.

We will ski together or in groups

Wednesday (10): 4:30-6:30pm. Classic distance ski and technique.

Please arrive ready to go by 4:30pm (this means skis already waxed!). After some snow and cooler temps you’ll likely be able to get away with Rode Multigrade. If you need to use my wax, show up early enough to apply (by 4:15pm).

Thursday (11): Classic ski on own, check training plan.

Saturday (13): There is the Rocky Mountain Ski Marathon this saturday. If your keen, enter and race… should be fun! However, as the coaches are all away, you’ll be on your own for waxing and race support.

Next week I am hoping to run 2 fun range sessions, games, relays etc. Stay tuned.

Other than that, ski as much as possible over the next while!!! There is good snow out there still and there is still a few weeks left in march, so get out there and train train train! You’ll all benefit from that come next years racing.

    see y’all Tuesday
    Roddy
