Some busy days ahead for the coaches and waxers. 5 races in 5 days for athletes in the club. It all starts on Friday with the World Championships Trials. The AB Cup races are on Sunday and Monday.
RACE SCHEDULE:
Fri Jan 2: Pursuit trials for WJC and U23 categories. Race distance are from 10 to 30km.
Sat Jan 3: Freestyle sprints (noram).
Sun Jan 4: WJC and U23 trials on 10/15km freestyle, interval start. Today is also an AB Cup for midgets to Jr Boys/girls. Distances are 2.5 to 5km, individual starts.
Mon Jan 5: AB Cup classic races for midgets to Jr boys and girls on 3.75 to 10km, mass start.
Tue Jan 6: Classic sprints for WJC and U23 trialsCOMMUNICATION:
We will communicate all race information via the CNSC forum (look under your own program). We will not send any emails. We will post waxing details, recommended time of arrival, awards ceremonies details, etc… Please check it frequently. The start list will be posted on the zene4.ca website late each evening (coach meetings are at 7pm every night).WAXING:
We ask that athletes that have paid the waxing deposit drop by the wax room between 1-3pm on Saturday to wax their race skate skis for Sunday’s race. We will have a coach coordinating the waxing. For those that are racing on Monday, we ask that you bring your classic skis on Sunday and you will glide wax them after your race. Waxers might add fluorocarbon powders or other additives to your skis the morning of the race.For those that have decided to do their own waxing (opted out of the wax deposit or haven’t paid it); we will post some glide wax recommendations on the forum. We will try to post it by 3pm on Saturday, but it will depend on how busy the coaches are and the availability of the internet connection. Note that we will not supply fluorocarbon powders or extra additives on race days to the skiers that have decided to opt out of the wax deposit.
RACE COURSES:
The race courses are not 100% finalized at this point. It appears that the AB Cup courses will be the same as last year (cut-off below the wall). These will be confirmed in a few days.REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Make sure you register for the AB Cup races at zone4.ca. Deadline is today (31st) at midnight.Contact myself or your coach if you have questions.
