    How to nordic ski race
    Start and drop off times
The timing of the start and drop off timing will depend on the start list which is usually released the night before each race. Please check the forum for race day details the night before each race.

    Warm up to cool down
Parent volunteers will warm up, get the kiddos to the start line and lead the cool down. There will be spots on the course for you all to cheer wildly.

    Glide wax
CH4 or equivalent (-10) for Saturday and Sunday. If you are feeling keen, glide wax and scrape both skate and classic skis. Glide waxing kids skis is not mandatory and, at this age, does not effect performance. It can be a fun or funny family activity. For classic skis, you do not glide wax in the kick wax zone. Glide wax choices are usually SWIX CH4 or Swix CH6 or equivalent temperature range. For a video on how to glide wax: click here.

    Classic skis
The Canmore Nordic Wax Team will take care of grip waxing your child’s skis. The expectation is that the skis are marked with your child’s name, all kick wax is removed and the skis are cleaned and the wax zone is marked with a Sharpie. Please bring the classic skis to the wax room before on Saturday no later than 2 hours before the start time.

There is no Track Attack on Statutory Holidays, Christmas break, Family Week and the Monday after races weekends. Dates which session will Track Attack will not be held are: January 10, January 24, February 21 and February 24.
